BSM has a classic saying: “Once a Red Knight, always a Red Knight,” and current graduates are proving the truth of it. At BSM, the students work to support one another, celebrate each other’s accomplishments, and stay connected even when they graduate. Three BSM alumni of the class of 2024 embody this theme as they continue to participate and support fellow Red Knights.
Sports is a major avenue that connects alumni back to BSM; whether it is going to practice or a game, many alumni show up and support their former teammates and coaches. BSM’s wide range of sports offers various communities for students to find their place in. Even once students go off to college, many remain in contact because of the connections they have made in those sports. “I still keep in touch with many of the students at BSM, especially the dance team. I even went to the state tournament to support them,” class of 2024 alumni Sloane Dokman said in an email interview.
The connections made in high school, in and outside of the classroom, can last a lifetime, and these students don’t take that for granted. They look back at their experience at BSM with gratitude for all the lessons they learned and the people they met. “BSM is important to me because of all the amazing people I’ve met over the years through BSM that have turned into friendships that’ll last a lifetime,” class of 2024 alumni Caleb Koskie said in an email interview.
BSM’s lasting impact on these students is one they will never forget. The strong community of BSM is instilled in them and will stay there. The student and teacher relationships developed in this building continue to bind alumni to BSM. “I’m still involved with BSM because of the friends I’ve made throughout the years. Not only with the students, but the teachers as well. Whenever I am home I always make it a priority to spend a lot of my time with my BSM friends and make sure to meet up with some of my old teachers to catch up,” class of 2024 alumni Sienna Duffy said in an email interview.
