When I was eight,

I was scared,

And you knew that…

When I was eight,

I was waiting for my dad by the door,

And you saw me…

When I was eight,

I was embraced by you,

And you lead me…

When I was eight,

I had to say goodbye to grandma,

And you did too…

When I was eight,

I was alone,

And you stepped up and changed that…

When I was eight,

I had you,

And now at 15…

I am at a lost because you aren’t here anymore…

When I was eight,

I had you to guide me to her casket,

And now who’s gonna guide me to yours?
