The BSM girls’ swim team suffered their third consecutive loss of the season on Thursday, September 18, losing a home meet to the Chanhassen Storm by a score of 54-116. Facing a team that has placed in the top ten in the Class AA State tournament in each of the past three years and boasts two nationally ranked swimmers, the Red Knights were overmatched by their new conference rivals. The Red Knights had little to celebrate about, winning only two events. Early on in the meet, junior Grace Hedin won the 200 yard freestyle, and later the 400 yard freestyle relay team of Hedin and sophomores Maria Satre, Claire Torgerson, and Madison Semler were victorious in the last event of the night. The JV side did see some promise, however. Sophomore Josie Ross made this evident, dropping a blistering twenty seconds in her 500 yard freestyle. “Although you’re one a team, you do need to be concerned about your own personal growth. I grew a lot throughout that race, so I’m very proud of myself,” Ross said.
