Just after going head-to-head with Eden Prairie and showing immense promise in both the play of Jalen Long and the rest of the Red Knight’s, the boy’s hockey team suffered a crushing loss on January 25, 2014 to Shattuck Prep, with a score of 8-1.
Shattuck controlled nearly the entire game, jumping out to a 2-0 lead in the first period. The only promise the Red Knights showed was early in the second period was with a goal from Nate Meyer cutting the deficit to one goal. However, Shattuck returned the favor, burying another two goals before the end of the second period. The rest of the game would be a nightmare for BSM, as Shattuck was unstoppable with their shots, resulting in starting goaltender Jalen Long being pulled after letting in the sixth score. Even with the score at 6-1 midway through the third, Shattuck would not let up, scoring a final two goals, and cementing an already brutal blowout.
The boy’s hockey team now drops to 12-6-2 on the season, and look to snap the two game losing streak with a victory over a once huge rival Totino-Grace; a game which Carter Roo will certainly be hoping for a good performance in.
