Candy cane sales prove successful for freshmen

Freshman class board members were stationed in the commons last week, selling candy canes to students and allowing them to, anonymously or not, write messages to fellow students. Around 1,500 candy grams were sold this year to students for 25 cents per candy cane. The sales ended up profiting $250 that will be dedicated to whichever cause the freshman class board decides to put the money towards. However, the newbie fundraisers are unsure where the money will go at the moment. “I think we probably raised less than other years because we decided to keep the price low so they were affordable so people could buy for everyone on their list,” Student Council adviser Ms. Katie McDonald said.
