Soaring through the ranks of the BSM basketball program, freshman
Isaiah Zierden has risen from the ninth grade silver team to a
sixth man on varsity. After two years on the seventh and eighth
grade A teams, Zierden spent most of the year on the JV squad,
though he has been getting consistent playing time on varsity for
the past few months, largely due to his pinpoint shooting accuracy
and his ability to score. In his varsity debut, Zierden scored 6
points on St. Francis, and, just two games later, scored a team
high of 15 points against crosstown rival St. Louis Park.
“[Zierden] has poise and a high basketball IQ,” said head coach
John Moore. “He’s got the potential to become a great leader over
the next few years.”
