Contributing to the Minnesota-based, non-profit organization Children’s Surgery International, the Benilde-St. Margaret’s National Honor Society chapter ran its second successful Send a Kiss, Spread a Smile Hershey Kiss Drive, which raised a substantial $662.50.
“It definitely went better than last year, because more students got involved,” said NHS President, Elizabeth Tiffany who originated the idea of the drive and headed the project. Although the drive received more donations last year, she believes it was ultimately better this year due to more student participation.
Children’s Surgery International, which provides surgeries correcting issues such as facial deformities, burn scar revisions, and cleft lip and palates, as well as health care screening and education, will undoubtedly benefit from NHS’s impressive effort.
