Kongregate reigns supreme over gaming Web sites

Of all the free Internet gaming sites, Kongregate reigns as
emperor. It has been called “the YouTube of webgaming,” where users
upload and play each other’s games. Contests for the best game of
the month are voted on by fans; the winning developer receives a
cash prize. Users keep profiles that track their games played,
scores, submissions, much like any other social website. The most
notable game is David Sirlin’s Kongai, an online multiplayer card
game that is built on a battle system similar to Pokemon, and cards
are collected by playing other games on Kongregate, keeping with
community feel and giving credit to the developers. Overall,
Kongregate provides a free, organized, community based Web gaming
experience, one that will certainly only expand into something
greater.
