Growing up in the hood, Jorge Dabooty Quinby (JD) learned to rap like his idols: Kid Cudi, Lil’ Wayne, and YF Beezy. He practiced day and night until one day he was arrested for humiliation… of himself. To direct his creativity in a positive way, he was given two years of community service at the Minneapolis School of Ballet. He became the janitor — a cumbersome job. He started practicing ballet at late hours, in the unused basement of the school. One day an instructor spotted JD, as she was bringing up some boxes, grabbed him and brought him upstairs. From then on, JD attended the most prestigious school of ballet and goes down in history for his graceful physique and his love for dancing. Although he attends a regular high school now, he likes to wear his unitard under his clothes to remind him of the feeling of stepping on the polished, oak floor of the ballet studio.
