Rwagatare looks to dribble an opponent in an early season matchup.

As the BSM Boys’ Soccer season came to a close on Saturday, October 13, against crosstown rivals Breck, one player in particular stood out: senior Bright Rwagatare. The outside midfielder marauded up and down the right wing wreaking havoc on the Breck defense. All season he has shown strong defensive efforts, but struggled to score only tallying two goals during the regular season. However, Rwagatare was a completely different player in front of goal during sections. His week began strong as he scored in the team’s 10-0 win over Rockford High School, followed by two goals in a 4-1 against Southwest Christian; finally, he scored in the Breck game taking his section tournament goal count to four as the Red Knights bowed out in penalties. Because of his hard working performances in the section tournament he has been rightfully named BSM Athlete of the Week for October 6-12.
