The BSM girls’ hockey team travelled to Victoria on Tuesday to face-off against the Holy Family-Waconia Wildfire on Tuesday, November 18. The game was scoreless through the first period, but Holy Family broke the silence in the second period to take the lead. The Wildfire extended their lead early in the third period; the Red Knights retaliated with three unanswered goals late in the game to seal the 3-2 victory. “We got off to a very slow start and didn’t really pick it up until the third period when we finally put some pucks in the back of the net,” said senior captain Xandi Swedberg. Goals were scored by Julia Stelljes, Xandi Swedberg, and Megan Cornell. Stelljes’s goal was scored on a power play; Swedberg’s and Cornell’s goals were both scored while the team was shorthanded.
