Cross country teams underperform at weekend meets

The boys and girls Cross Country teams both competed in the Roy Griak meet on Saturday, September 27, and both teams finished in 22nd place. It wasn’t the outcome they had hoped for, and wasn’t nearly as good as their 14th finish last weekend in the Milaca Mega Meet, but it was a very big, grueling meet. “Last weekend we had the Roy Griak Meet – a huge meet that has competitors from all over midwest. The course was hard and hilly, and the day was very hot, so we didn’t have one of our best days as a team. In spite of all that, we worked really hard and showed that we wouldn’t give up, which was pretty cool,” said senior captain Nick Griebie. The next meet will be this Thursday, at the Fox Hollow Golf Course in St. Michael, and both teams will be looking for a solid rebound from this weekend’s meet.
