The Benilde-St. Margaret’s Girls’ soccer team defeated the Richfield Spartans 10-0 on Tuesday, September 16. The girls came out strong and started scoring right of the bat. The first goal came from freshman Maddie Stoks at 26:49 in the first half. The other nine goals came from seniors Emma Van Der Heide, Allie Coughlin, McCall Bromelkamp, Jordan Maddaus, and junior Sophie Roux. The goalie, Crystal Sorem, recovered from her last game with some amazing saves and a shutout. “Winning helped boost our confidence which was nice after a big loss. It gave us a chance to try some players at new positions, and we also got to try out our new formation,” junior Taylor Gelling said.
