The black Keys push listeners into rock coma

April 8, 2008

The Black Keys hooked up with Gnarls Barkley producer Danger Mouse on their aptly titled new release Strange Times, and the result is a White Stripes’ inspired guitar assault that leaves listeners in a state of rock coma wondering how only two people could possibly make that much noise. Tracks like “Strange Times” and “Psychotic Girl” have all the vibes of a 60s psychedelic band while other tracks like “Things Ain’t Like They Used To Be” are so blues-driven they could be slipped onto a BB King album. The amount of depth on Strange Times is unparalleled in the music industry today and is the reason why there is so much buzz surrounding this electrifying duo from Ohio.
