The BSM girls’ swim team won their final home meet of the regular season, beating the Fridley Tigers 95-73 on Tuesday, October 21. The Red Knights simply dominated in their last appearance before Sections and showed copious amounts of versatility in the process, winning every event except for the 100-yard backstroke and 100-yard breaststroke.  One continuing star for the Red Knights was sophomore Claire Torgerson, who followed her success by placing first in the 50-yard freestyle and 100-yard butterfly.  Perhaps the most valuable asset for BSM all year, junior Grace Hedin, contributed by being victorious in the 500 yard freestyle.  With this, the Red Knights’ first home win of the season, the Red Knights will have a two-week break from competition before the long anticipated Section 2A meet at St. Kate’s, while the JV team ends its season with Metro West Conference Championships on Saturday at Richfield.  “I think the JV will be looking good, the Varsity is going through tough training now, so they will be struggling, but if they make it to the end, and the team performs well, certain individuals should make it to state,” JV competitor and sophomore Josie Ross said.
