Bullying speaker to present to faculty, parents and students
In the spirit of Bullying Awareness month, Barbara Coloroso, author of “The Bully, the Bullied, and the Bystander,” will be visiting BSM to give a presentation about the effects of bullying on October 2 at 11:30 a.m. for faculty and at 7:00 p.m. for students’ parents. She will also be speaking to the students on October 3. Through her understanding of multifaceted bullying situations, Coloroso plans to talk about the effects of bullying on everyone involved and how we can help all three: the bully, the bullied, and the bystander. “The purpose is to raise awareness among parents, students, and teachers, in order to stop bullying and to give information and strategies to all three different groups. It is a spectrum of intervention so that everyone can work together to create a safe environment for students,” Senior High Principal Sue Skinner said.
