NSC student athletes attend leadership seminar at BSM
Thursday, September 13, student-athletes from schools in the North Suburban Conference gathered in the Benilde-St. Margaret’s Great Hall to attend a sports leadership seminar. These athletes, chosen by coaches and athletic directors from their schools, took part in a day-long workshop which stressed the importance of leadership, sportsmanship, and team building.
Led by motivational speaker Craig Hillier, important team and sportsmanship lessons were taught through interactive activities such as building towers out of a few straws and a minimal amount of tape. This had an impact on many leaders within the conference including junior wrestler Carter Burn. “[This seminar] really helped me learn the importance of taking each individual’s personality and talents to create a successful team,” Burn said.
