The basketball and the jazz funk dance teams were honored last Thursday, May 1 by a luncheon with the archbishop John Neinstedt. The teams celebrated a short Mass before eating spaghetti with meatballs, bread, which was served by the Archbishop himself, and ice-cream sandwiches for dessert. “It was a delightful afternoon,” said Principal Sue Skinner, who was also there. The archbishop made an great effort to make a connection with the students and make the afternoon as teen-friendly as possible, said Dr. Skinner. Senior Claire Jordan, dance team member, said of the Archbishop’s invitation, “I was really surprised! It was really nice of him to take the time.”
