BSM sophomores, juniors, and seniors recently placed their vote for Grand Knight, and waited for the Holiday Ball coronation to know who won. The coronation took place on Friday, January 13 during homeroom. The eight senior nominees—Michael Wexler, Alex Houlihan, Colby Clinton, Derek Drees, Ricky Floyd, and Skyler Burns-Goetzman—danced down the runway alongside their dates before the Grand Knight title was announced.

Colby Clinton, accompanied by Drew Check, was given this year’s Grand Knight title. They strutted down the aisle to the song “Shut Up and Dance” by WALK THE MOON before being crowned Grand Knight. “Being nominated was a bag of mixed emotions: overwhelming joy and pride with just a dash of fear. To be honest, it’s an amazing, and slightly strange, feeling; I had unknown parents, teachers, and students congratulating me,” Clinton said.

Holiday Ball took place on Saturday, January 21, and is traditionally a girl-ask-boy dance, although singles are welcome as well. Red Knights attend a sit-down dinner and dance the night away at the Sheraton Minneapolis West this weekend.
