This year, Spanish classes have begun to expand their fields of study into the cultural significance and the impact of the Spanish language. In an attempt to broaden horizons and give Spanish IV students an out-of-the-classroom experience, Spanish teachers Ms. Lidibette Guzman and Ms. Mary Murray organized a trip to the Science Museum of Minnesota on Tuesday, November 19, to view the Mayan exhibit currently on display. “The [field] trip is especially for the students of the summer mission trip, who had the opportunity to visit Copán, a Mayan site on the border of Guatemala and Honduras,” Spanish Teacher and Diversity Director Ms. Guzman said.
